Early Mornings on the Airwaves
Here I am. So profesh, I know. This is what I look like at 5am doing arts features - covering music, art, film, dance, fashion - on CBC Radio in Montréal. Of course, an audience of listeners can't tell what you're wearing over the radio airwaves, but when I hit the mic, I know I can feel it.
At that unheavenly hour, my pores are screaming for oxygen, water - anything but makeup. On this day, a pale blue Stella McCartney blazer and my beloved but seldom-worn Chie Mihara heels provide the ticket to waking me up. Got these Japanese-woodblock and soft black leather bad boys in Chicago and despite their towering prowess, they're extremely comfortable.
Of course, being on the microphone and talking about tonight's must-see show, the new Arcade Fire album, or the latest music festival to come through Montréal is worth waking up for without any complaints! Next week on another program on radio, I'll be covering Fall fashion highlights on Radio Canada International programme, The Link.
